Working with your Natural Creative Rhythms

Imagine your creative energy as a wave - it rises, it peaks, it ebbs, it flows. There's no forcing a wave to move differently than it naturally does. Your creativity has its own beautiful rhythm, just like the tides.

Notice what time of day you're most alive with ideas. For me, it’s early morning.

Maybe for you it’s evening or late at night - whenever it is, you’ll notice you feel more full of possibility.

Where are you at in your creative cycle right now? Are you in a moment of flowing inspiration? A quiet period of gathering? A burst of productive energy? There's no wrong place to be - only awareness of where you are.

Picture yourself working with these natural rhythms instead of against them.

Try scheduling your creative work for when your energy naturally rises... planning quiet reflection for your softer moments... matching your creative tasks to your body and mind’s own timing.

For me, I notice I always feel much more creative after I go on a short vigorous walk.  Sometimes you can use physical activity or some kind of stimulation to kick you into gear.

When has creativity felt effortless for you?  Chances are, you were in sync with your natural rhythm.

Where were you?  What were you doing?  What do you think the recipe is for your peak creative state?

Your creative energy has its own perfect timing. Trust it. Move with it. Lean in to it.
