Integration
For the last 14 days, we've been building two parallel skills: sharpening our intentional observation of the world around us, and developing the mind habits that help us actually finish projects.
The way you notice details more intentionally. Learning to trust in your instincts. To get in sync with your natural rhythms. To have the finisher mindset. Your ability to move from inspiration to action.
All of these can become part of your daily rhythm.
Picture yourself walking through your day with a few of these new tools - being open to inspiration whether you go, making connections between the natural and built words, spotting patterns, making decisions with confidence, completing projects one step at a time.
See yourself approaching new projects not with hesitation, but with excited anticipation. Watch as finishing becomes not just a goal, but just part of what you do. You are a professional resistance beater after all.
Consider if anything has changed inside of you in the last fourteen days. Has your confidence deepened just a little bit? Has your awareness expanded? Maybe completion feels slightly more in reach.
This isn't an ending - it's a beginning. Every completed project makes the next one more possible. Every time it strengthens your creative muscles. You always learn something new with each project.
My hope is that within this challenge, a message or two was particularly resonant for you and becomes something you internalize. Don’t let it go to waste, find a way to put into action today what you’ve learned here. There are lots of little rules and mantras I’ve picked up over the years that have really helped me. I hope you can find ones that help you.
More than anything, I want to convey that you are capable of a lot. When I work with clients on design projects, one of the most common things I’ve noticed is that they already know what they need to do and have a lot of ideas for how to do it. Often, I am just there to provide a little guidance, permission and approval.
There are so many opportunities today. But there are also a lot of distractions.
If you can become someone who is a creator, not a consumer, there have never been more paths you could take. You can change your life in a year with just a little focused effort every day.
It’s an incredible time to be alive and I hope you consider what a great privilege it is. I hope this challenge has given you a little boost on your journey and added a new tool or two in your toolbox. And I hope you use it.
Thanks for completing The Designed Life Challenge.
