Intuitive Design: Trusting Your Instincts

Yesterday we talked about questioning your rules, today we talk about leaning in to your intuition.  How do you learn to trust your creative instincts?

Imagine you’re standing in an office building you’ve never been in.  As you look around, notice how your eye naturally moves to certain areas... drawn to particular objects or arrangements. There's no forcing, no analyzing... just a pure intuitive response.

There’s certain things that you simply like or dislike about this space.  

What catches your attention first?  Your eye knows where to go without being told.  It knows what it likes.

Now picture yourself in an empty room. Feel the excitement of possibility. Notice your first instinct about this space - not what you "should" do, but what you want to do. That first flash of inspiration... that immediate pull... that's your design intuition speaking.

Your creative instincts have been building throughout your entire life. Every space you've loved... every texture that's moved you... every color that's made you feel alive... they're all there, waiting in your creative memory.

Your intuition isn't random - it's the collection of every beautiful thing that's ever resonated with you.

When you make decisions from this place of intuitive knowing, almost like pursuing curiosity, you're not just designing - you're expressing taste.  That’s what great designers do.  Trust that first response. Honor that initial pull. Your instincts know the way.

Feel the strength of your creative knowing. It's always been there, waiting for you to listen.

Remember: Your intuition can be a very reliable creative compass. Practice listening to it.  Learn to Trust it. Follow it. Let it lead you to designs that feel authentically, beautifully yours.
